Here’s a compilation of projects I shot all over the world in 2010. Africa, Hong Kong, and Seoul. Used my favorite paintbrush: the 5D. Available light with some use of a Lite Panel Flood (an LED sungun). And in some cases, aluminum foil as a bounce card. The smooth moves is created by my new fav instrument: a Glidetrack. A pair of very cool retired firemen (Steve Olney & Peter Sestito) hatched this concept for a series. Part cooking show. Part travelogue. I filmed it on the EX3 and cut it on FCP. Music was sourced from Soundtrack Pro. Produced by John Hoffman and Bruce Defrees. Locations: Miami and Savannah.

Here’s a promo for an organization whose objective is to make altruism viral. I shot it in a midtown Manhattan studio with the Founder and his colleagues. The camera was the EX1. The tilt-shift look was achieve using Magic Looks Suite.

These dancers were shot against a white backdrop. In the edit, I employed several FCP filters to alter the images. Everything was shot on an oldie but a goodie: the DVX100.

Lucky Rice hosted an Asian-themed cocktail event in NYC. I was lucky enough to ask host, Kelly Choi, to intro the piece. My equipment was the 5D, 14-35mm lens, an LED sungun, and a Lite Panel 1×1, and a Zacuto Rapid Fire stabilizer. It was cut on a MacPro with FCP.

The aim was to make a mood-filled piece about a mixed martial arts studio in NYC. Shot on the 5D, tracking shot son the Glidetrack, cut on FCP. Music and sound fx by Jamba.

Leblon, a premium cachaca-maker, sent me to the heart of Brazil to shoot at their sugar cane distillery. The objective is to make the site feel like a vineyard in France. I directed and shot this on a Sony EX3. I edited it on FCP and a laptop. Jamba Castro scored it.

I wanted to create a pas de deux between bottle, rocks glass, and ice. It was shot on my kitchen counter-top at my apartment. Styled by Ritsuko Yamaguchi. The music scored by Jamba Castro. I employed a Canon 5D, a 70mm Sigma macro lens, a Glidetrack, and edited on an iMac using FCP7.

Here’s a profile of a talented young soccer player from Long Island. Shot on a mid winter evening at the historic pitch called the Met Oval. Weapons of choice: Canon 5D and a 1×1 Lite Panel. Cut on FCP7 with some color Magic Bullet color grading.
